National Honor Society Honor Graduates
The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students across the United States. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The organization was established in 1921 and today has over one million members in high school chapters across the states.
Membership in the Schoolhouse Preparatory chapter is an honor bestowed upon a student. Selection for membership is based on outstanding scholarship, moral character, leadership, and service. The candidate must be either a sophomore, junior, or senior, maintain a cumulative scholastic GPA of 3.5 and demonstrate 2 Quarters of Honor Roll per year.
New members are recognized at the Wolfpack Achievement Awards every Spring and receive the NHS Certificate, and a NHS backpack containing a Polo Shirt with the NHS Logo. Varsity athletes inducted into the National Honor Society also receive the Recognition of Scholar Athlete for maintaining a GPA above a 3.5 while competing in Varsity Basketball. This outstanding accomplishment exemplifies the primary goal of Schoolhouse Prep’s Interscholastic Athletic Program.
Seniors are recognized during the Graduation Ceremony and are presented with the Honor Graduate Medal, Blue and Gold Honor Chords, and the NHS stole.
