We're excited to announce that Schoolhouse Prep will be offering Dual enrollment classes to eligible students starting this summer. Students are not required to present placement exams which opens up opportunities for students who aren't good test takers but are excellent students. Classes are offered at no cost to the student because dual enrollment courses are paid for by the state of Florida.

Southeastern University (SEU) is a private university located in Lakeland, Florida. They offer baccalaureate, master’s, and doctorate degrees. They are home to the SEU Fire and have numerous athletic programs.
ENROLLMENT ...
Schoolhouse will enroll the students directly at SEU. Students will receive an orientation regarding their MyFire account and logging in to their classes.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA ...
  • GPA of 3.5
  • Sophomore, Junior or Senior
  • Must be self-directed and capable of balancing College level courses, high school courses, and in the case of student athletes, a competitive game schedule.

DUAL ENROLLMENT OVERVIEW...
  • ​Classes will be offered online
  • Courses are 8 weeks long
  • Students complete the weekly assignments on their own schedules.
  • ​There is no cost to take Dual Enrollment classes. Florida passed a law last fall making Dual Enrollment FREE in the state of Florida.
  • Unlike most universities, students are not required to take a PERT, ACT or SAT exam.​
  • Students are required to use their own laptops.​
  • Online courses are asynchronous (not “live”) so students can work on them at their convenience in their MyFire Student Learning Portal to complete weekly assignments. Each week runs from Wednesday through Tuesday night at midnight (EST). Online course instructors are available by email to assist their students.
ACCREDITATION ...
Southeastern University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, master’s, and doctorate degrees.
SUMMER B SESSION ...
The first class our students will be taking is Introduction to Psychology. The session runs July 2 - August 26.
CLASSES ONCE THE SCHOOL YEAR STARTS ...
Students taking dual enrollment classes will still be required to take core courses in English and Math. Time will be allotted in their schedule to login to the online classes.
